27th

27th

27/11/2010

Another 27th had passed, it was our

17th Monthniversary. =)

It was suppose to be my long waited Korean Date, but because my Aunt had some cash vouchers to clear off and I managed to sneak off a RM150 cash rebate, so we went to Renaissance Hotel Marche Restaurant to have our dinner instead.

It was nice to dress up nicely once in a while especially on our special day. If not, all my make up and dresses will go into waste as I am too lazy to dress up normally. So yes, make up time.

Some eye liner and mascara and I am good to go. =)

Me me

B B <3

Bread basket

You have cheese bread stick, olive roll and some white bread. Seriously, the amount of bread they give up can feed us to four people. I am already half full after munching away some cheese sticks. haha.

As for the bread dipping, they served some peanuts with olive oil and balsamic vinegar and as for the one further down in the picture, I have no idea what it is. It has a very neutral and mild taste and goes very well with bread.

Marche Antipasto tasting plate

We can choose four of the antipasto from the menu. From the top left, duck prosciutto with toasted macadamia nuts and honey, top right Marinated feta, down left salmon rillettes,  down right we have lamb cutlet with shallot jam. It is served with some olive oil and pesto. We LOVE the duck prosciutto as it is so flavorful and balance really well with the honey sauce. The doneness of the lamb cutlet is great, but I think it needs more seasoning.

As for the main course, it is, fairly disappointing.

B's Florence Steak

The doneness of the steak is perfect, but, the meat is DAMN tough. Totally killed B's appetite for his main.

My Seafood Risotto

As you can see from the picture itself, the yabby is burnt and the risotto is wet and overcook. It is exactly how it. Mind me, one of my yabby flew. =p It was so hard that I accidentally drop my yabby on the floor. I did not notice there is yabby in my risoto when I went through the menu, if not I would have choose something else. Oh well, the other than the burnt yabby and overcook risotto, everything is okay. You have handful of scallop and cuttlefish.

The best part of the dinner, is probably the duck prosciutto and the bread. Other than that, I think we won't be coming back anymore. And oh, just for anyone who is going there in the future, we are not allowed to take picture actually. One of the waitress told me while I was snapping away. I was told that I need to get permission from the PR department to do so. Seriously?

Anyways, we were suppose to stop  La Bodega for some dessert initially, but we ended up with two glasses of Sangria. =p

Red and pink Sangria. =)

The moral of the story is, don't let me drink too much. =p I will start laughing and talking nonsense after drinking, turned into cherry tomato of course. Don't worry, I am totally sober, but I just feel like kacau-ing B. =p In the end, I only drank half a glass.

17th months had passed, how time flies ya. It did not felt like 17th months at all really. Through these 17th months, we never had a big argument, never raised our voice at each other, never had any hard feelings more than 30 minutes or less, and rarely feeling down in our relationship. Perhaps we know each other too well? or perhaps we have very high tolerance towards each other. Girls will always be girls, and guys are still guys. In the end, it all depends on how both of you hold on to the relationship and cherish each other. And that is what we do. =)

Happy 17th Anniversary Darling.

I love you as always. =)

The end

Conference had finally came to an end. Three days of being a China production worker and usherer ended, and it is time to hit the books. Exam is on Tuesday and much revision has yet to be completed. It is time to rest my brains for awhile before it got burnt off. =)

11 hours of sleep is super awesome after a few days of work. Asia Euro Conference 2010 had given me an inside of what the industry is about and lighten me up with a few new thoughts, or shall I say new aims for myself in the future. I was also delighted to be able to get a few contacts for my own dissertation that I have to fire up my engine when exams are over. Its picture time. I did not take much pictures because I think I look like crap after working for hours haha.

This is how our campus looks at 7am. Lovely right?

First Rapid Fire session

Rapid fire session is where the panelist will discuss on a certain topic in the hospitality industry, and delegates are free to ask any questions.

Us with our beloved Ms Lisa

=)

Thats all for the little update for now. I can not wait for dinner later. wooohoooo~ Will talk about it tomorrow. Muahaha. =p Good luck to everyone who is sitting for their DELF exam today and tomorrow. Loves

1 2 3

I am tired to death right now...I can not believe I still have the strength to open my eyes..We are working as student helper for the Asia Euro Conference held at Taylors University which will officially starts tomorrow. It was a HUGE mistake to walk around on a 4inch heels for the entire day, i thought it was just a briefing and totally did not expect to stay in campus until almost 9pm. Two more days to go, and hopefully we will get to learn something from the conference.

I am a super kepochi girl I have to admit that. So i love to blog walk, love to stalk people on facebook etc whenever I am free. I guess that is what you do when you have nothing better to do than to sit in front of the lap top. So you see different people on the net and you see how they express themselves online. Of course you can choose to see or not to see, it is entirely up to you.

Some things that you shown online really reflects on who you are whether you are an attention seeker or not. It is not surprise that others will comment on it and have their mind set on you. Bad words are not suppose to be used on someone who had raised you since young.

Emotional attention seeker. You really should learn to be happy, for once.

Somethings I really should not be bother at all, so why bothered? Gah. I think I should stop. For my own sake. Good night people, early morning for me tomorrow. Nights!

Pink and Purple

In my family, I am the earliest to move out of house ( for study of course =p ), and now my poor brother who is getting thinner by day in Sabah. Well, he is still living under the university so he can not cook at home but to eat outside almost everyday.  When he was at home last time, he can easily take down 2 bowls of rice, or even three if we are eating outside. So my poor little brother who is living in Sabah for more than 4 months now is getting thinner by day. Because as a student, every penny we spend counts, especially on food. From what I heard, he had been eating chap fun most of the time. No home cook food, no internet line most of the time, but fortunately, his girlfriend is there with him.

My brother is coming back next week and my mum is pretty excited. haha. She rarely cook at home busy because she is too busy with all her never ending work, so pity my brother at home. Whenever I am home, especially when Aaron comes down, she will go to the market to buy things to cook, especially soup. Since my brother is coming back, she is already starting to stock up the fridge with things to cook when he is home. As for me, I can not wait and see how thin he is. hahaha. Evil me. =p

It is our study week before our finals, we are suppose to study at home. Well, being a typical student, I will start SOON. =) Maybe tonight. After all, its a die die day on the first day of exam with two big subjects, Supply Chain Management paper and Business Law, second day is okay, and die die day for me on the third because we are having our French Exam. Hello two essay questions and hello dictation. T T Until now, last week of this semester and I am still wondering what am I doing in Advance French classes.

Trying to take more pictures before my hair grows longer. I am not planning to maintain it because I am starting to miss my long hair. Not to say I don't like having short hair, I love it because the weather is a killer most of the time and short hair makes my life easier. But being a typical girl, I like myself with long hair. =)

Its all about pink! Spot my Pinky sitting in my bag.=)

And its all about purple. I went bizarre because my parent's room wall color matches with my top

Notice my hair is getting longer already? So fast. tsk tsk.

Okay. Dont' look at my expression, I am exaggerating. =p Check out my muscle on my arms. Wohooo~

p/s So much for being syiok sendiri. =) Maybe I should study now.

Love for book and apple

It has been awhile since I sit down quietly and finish reading a story book.remember those Harry potter days where I locked myself in my room and slowly flipping through all those exciting magical adventures, imagining I am Harry, casting spells and flying around with my broomstick. Arrr. Those were the days, where you let your imaginations run wild. As I grew older and stepping into college, I rarely have time to read story book anymore.those were replaced by facebooking, blogging, reading online stories etc.

And then I saw this book with a little girl on the cover on my mum desk and I was immediately attracted to it. Got hold of it and started reading. 'I did tell, I did' by casie Harte is the name of this book, and a true story. Can you believe that I actually finished this 293 pages book in two hours? I was so drawn into the story that I can't wait to finish it.

It was story of a struggled girl,a true story about her unloved childhood and her struggles in life shadowed by the trauma she had in her early years.it is a hearting breaking story, revealing the monstrous and selfish human nature.so if you are bored with facebooking and tv,why not try reading some books to have a new perspective in life.

Well, our iPod touch seems to be my best buddy in killing off some time now. Surfing the net is much more smoother compare to our phone and the applications and games they offered were so addictive. Now I can truly understand why people can be so drawn into the apple world. Anyways, our classes had finally ended for good this semester. But exams were just around the corner and time to set our exam mood on and throw all those assignments away. But before that, angry bird first. =]

Its love

The road down the memory lane, no reflections of our past, just the two of us. I love to take this road again and again, because I have a bad memory and I tend to forget things easily. I am like an old woman who is afraid of loosing her memories and so she needs constant reminder to remember her past.

Have you ever heard before this saying, the courting part in a love story is the most memorable chapter in a relationship? I certainly do, and have no objections in this saying. This is the time, when both of you are unsure whether the opposite likes your or not, and still searching or waiting for that magical moment where both hearts met and decides to walk this journey together.

Holding hands

I am a hand person, and i love holding hands with the person I love. Because for me, hands are like a bridge to your heart, and you need two hands to connect two hearts together. It gives me a sense of security, and a sense of presences. And, I have this ability to fall or tripped easily, so that is why I need someone to hold me.

We weren't exactly sure of our status at that time, was sure that we like each other but everything seems to be happening so fast. I must say, I was on cloud 9 at that time. I actually forgotten how we first hold each other's hand but he soon reminded me of it. Being a girl who can predict pretty well, I knew perfectly that it will happen and I am just waiting for the right time.

I can choose to not hold his hands, I can choose to let go and forget about it, but even though there are so many possibilities and so many people were watching, I still choose to hold his hands. I knew from that day onwards, I will hold his hands forever. Now when I think of it, it was probably one of the top five sweetest moment I ever had in this relationship.

Hugging

Despite my little fetish with hands ( =p ), I am also a hugger. I love to hug my partner. I like to listen to his heart beat and to feel safe and warm in his arms. I am sure I am not the only hugger in this world.

Our first hug was not intentional (^o^). haha. It happened when he first confessed to me face to face and I was so shy that my face turned into cherry tomato. I was so nervous that I wanted to hide my face badly and so, I hugged him.

The reason why I share it here, is because I want to remind myself in the future what happened when I read back all my posts, which I always do, and also to remind those couples out there, to remember these special moments you two once had. There are many stages in a relationship, and there is one call the cool down stage. When you had been together for long, you might loose the flame in the relationship. When it happens, try and think back why you two were together at the first place, remember your first date, first time holding hands, first time hugging each other etc. Find back the flames that you once had, and you may be surprise to find that you are still shy when you think of those moments.

Take as many picture as you can even though it is the same pose, the same angle. Because when you look back, you will realize how much two of you had changed over the time. Whether it is a hair cut, or some pimple breakouts, new clothes maybe, anything.

I took this picture because it is the second time B wore this white shirt and I think he looks good.=)

For you, I wrote this. <3

I love you more than ever. ^^

Foodie lesson

Foodie time!

Its all about home cook food. =)

What is this?

Looking like an Indian Thosai?

Well it is not, unfortunately. I wish I know how to make thosai at home myself. haha. This is actually a very thin savory pancake. Instead of making it like a normal pancake, we made it ultra thin so it will look like thosai. So what is in it? We have some dry prawns, onions, chives and chili flakes in it. Taste wise? Of course it it nice. =) So why dont you try making savory pancake at home for breakfast instead of eating sweet pancake next time?

Looking cute?

These are cute little deep fried wanton that we made ourselves. As a filling, we have some minced pork, mash potato, carrot, chives and a little crab stick. Just rolled it up in whichever way you want, as long as they closed up together nicely and deep fry it. Eat it with some chili sauce or thai chilly sauce would be the best! The fun of making wanton at home is the process of rolling it together with your family and eating it while it is crispy. Awesome. =)

Mushroom shell pasta with leek, luncheon meat and tomatoes

Yes. You heard it correctly, luncheon meat in pasta. Awesome! The flavors of fresh shitake mushroom is amazing in this dish, added with the sweetness of leeks and a bit little meat kick from the luncheon meat. I threw in my favorite spice as well, fennel seeds for that extra Asian kick in this pasta. Overall, it is good! =)

Creme Caramel!

One fine day after watching Jamie Oliver making ice cream in AFC, our dessert crave kicks in and decided to  make creme caramel at night! Well, it is pretty simple to make actually. You just need some milk, eggs, vanilla essence and sugar. First, boil some sugar with a bit of water to make the caramel. Then heat up the milk with a cap of vanilla essence. Let it cool down after it boils. While waiting, beat the eggs together with sugar and add in the milk after it is warm and not hot. Strain the custard mixture to make sure that there are no lumps in it. Pour a layer of caramel in your mold and let it harden. Then pour in the mixture into the mold and put it into a bain marie ( water bath ) in the oven. When it is cook to perfection, chill it in the fridge and voila! You have creme caramel for dessert! =)

Eating out!!

After looking at the food we cooked at home, lets look at some food that we had outside. =)

Nothing beats a descent plate of Mee Goreng Mamak! Slurrpps~

I have no idea how to do it at Mamak because I can never cook a Mee Goreng as good as this at home. =) It is hot and spicy with a little hint of sourness from the limau, perfectly seasoned with some good wok hei, there you go, a very humble plate of Mee Goreng Mamak.

Heard of Marufuku Udon at Jaya One?

It is a newly open restaurant in Jaya One selling Japanese Udon.

Their Menu

As you can see from their menu, they specialize in Udon and the price is pretty cheap considering it is a Japanese Restaurant. The most interesting thing I found about this restaurant is that they not only specialize in Udon, but also their service concept. It is a self service restaurant where you order your food directly from the Micros System, then you will proceed to a food counter where you can get other side dishes like kakiage, chicken croque, and edaname for a very cheap price. Green tea is also refillable, of course you need to refill it yourself. =) Once your order is ready, the server will then bring it to your table.

Spot the micros on the right and the food counter in the middle.Interesting right?

We had

Salade Udon

Salade udon is actually cold udon with julienne carrots, cucumbers, spring onions, shredded egg and tofu served with sesame sauce

It is my very first time to eat a cold udon served with sesame sauce. I am not  really familiar with Japanese sesame sauce so on my first bite, I find it a little funny but tasty at the same time. As I eat more, I realize that it is quite addictive. Too bad the udon is a bit hard, if not this would be a perfect dish to be eaten in a hot afternoon. =)

Wakame Udon

Wakame is also known as seaweed in Japanese. This, is nice. =) My bowl is filled with my favorite seaweed accompanied by some sawi ( which is a little weird i know ) with some chopped spring onions. The broth is tasty but not too salty and the udon is cooked to perfection. Arrr..Udon. =) If you ever stop by Jaya One, why not try some affordable Udon at Marufuku Udon.

Well Cook Gourmet Restaurant, SS14

Talking about this restaurant, I am sure most of you are familiar with their signature dish, which is Fried Laksa. For those don't know what is fried laksa, it tasted like Assam Laksa, but instead of having it with broth, it is fried. =) And it looks like this

Fried Laksa

Taste like Assam Laksa, even the garnishing resembles Assam Laksa. So for those Assam lovers out there, you must try the Fried Laksa here, because it is simply awesome. How should I describe the taste other than it tasted like Assam Laksa? Hmmm. It is very flavorful as it is very well seasoned, it is not too dry and not too wet, the texture is perfect as you can feel the smoothness of the lai fun, the crunchiness of the cucumber, onions and not to forget the aromas of bunga kantang and mint leaves that  just lift up the whole dish. NICE! =) They are famous for their clay pot too.

Claypot Yee Mee

A humble pot of Yee Mee. =)

As for dessert, what is better than Snowflakes??

Its the Coco Loco

Why I choose this instead of my normal favorite snowflakes? I am attracted by Gula Melaka they used here. hahaha..=p

Looking fabulous isn't it?

Slurrrrppppppsss

I added my favorite Ocha Balls in this bowl as well, because I simply love it. The plus point about this is they used coconut ice instead of normal ice, topped it up with some grass jelly, stringy jelly, and taro balls, not to forget my favorite Gula Melaka and self topped up ocha balls. What else can you ask for for a perfect afternoon dessert? ^^v

So much for much for my foodie updates today. Getting hungry yet? =p
