Its time to wrap up 2010!

Zheng zheng zheng! One and half day more to year 2011! Year 2011~~ I wonder what is awaiting me? Turning 22 years old, going to France for our long waited study trip, rushing for dissertation, ending our last semester, starting our internship, graduation and finally, start working. Perhaps the most important turning point of my life, from a student, to an working adult. 2011~~

Before stepping into year 2011, I guess I should summarize what had happened throughout this year. While going through all the pictures I took this year, I realize that this year has indeed been a fruity one. So many things happened, it all happened so fast and I can barely remember everything.

Firstly, I turned 21 years old this year.

Birthday dinner

I did not throw a huge birthday party this year like any of my friends..perhaps it has been a habit of mine for not celebrating it with a lot of people, but nevertheless, I had a wonderful time with B. Dinner was perfect as usual. We were treated with sparking wine, sherry wine and beer, oysters, succulent ribs and paella in courtesy of my bosses. Thanks to my darling, I had the best black forest cake ever. =)

Then comes Valentines Day that clashes with Chinese New Year...

Had our Valentines lunch at Pasta Zanmai before rushing home =)

Chinese New Year..I still can not believe I forgotten to bring back my camera's memory card! Therefore I do not have much pictures this year, grab it from my friend's FB profile..=p

We had our yearly CNY gathering at Mr Goh's house =)

The End of Higher Diploma

Then comes my higher diploma finals...I still remember how my heart pumps and all the adrenaline rush during our final practical exam..The waiting was nerve wrecking and hearing stories from candidates before me is like putting myself on the chopping board waiting to be slaughtered. All the tears in kitchen, all the cold sweats and emotional ups and downs during F&B exams, I really missed those now. hmmm. After so long, I still want to thank Wai Kheng for being next to me during the kitchen practical exams. Thanks for helping me at that time, and we are strong ladies ya! =)

I am truly grateful for my blessed results. Satisfied and totally relieved. And that marks the end of my higher diploma.

While waiting for our degree to start, we both went back to our last restaurant to work for two months. Reason being, needs some funding for our new handphone and also Tioman Trip. It was two months of real hard work, worked our ass off everyday. Every penny of our hard earn money was filled with all our blood and sweat, literally. =p But is it worth it? Totally. We had learnt a lot in these two months and met pretty interesting people everyday.

Wai Mae's Convocation.

She is the first among all of us to graduate from college. Me , Eunice, Kar Woon and Dolores went over to Inti College University to witness her glorious moment. It makes me wonder, how would mine be like? hmmm..Oh, I still remember my heels broke on that day and we ate the very tasty and popular Nasi Dagang after. =)

Melaka, Ipoh and Penang Food Trip

After we finished our higher diploma, four of us, Randall, Carlos me and B went on a food trip for a week to Melaka, Ipoh and Penang. We ate everything from chicken rice ball, cendol, Ipoh chicken rice, a lot of seafood, Hainanese food, the very expensive char kuey teow etc. For the entire week, we were never hungry. Keep stuffing ourselves with endless great food wherever we go. Hmmm. How I miss those time...

Our Girls Gathering =)

9 of us girls had planned this for a long time, and we had this all girls gathering at One Utama. We had fun talking, gossiping, had fun walking around and eating, had fun dressing up!! And of course, taking A LOT of pictures. =) Eunice! When you come back, we have to do this again! Missing you!

Farewells, One after Another

Randall's Farewell

This fella, one of the best buddy I had in Higher Diploma, thanks to his never ending craziness, we had much fun in class. =) He flew over to Switzerland to continue his degree. I bet he had the time of his life over there by getting a hot girlfriend and also have the chance to travel around Europe! Jealous sial! Anyways, coming back in May next year. Gossip time! muahahaha..

Carlos, Reagan and Mischa's Farewell

All of us who attended their farewell..=)

Carlos ar Carlos, the king of Ngap, practically the leader of our class. Smart guy, fun but can be crazily insane at times, the mood lifter of our group decided to fly to USA along with 4 other friends to further their studies. Missing the Bak Kut Teh session, group study sessions, pasta buffet, none stop eating trip, and his 'Ngap!' in the class.

Without these two mood lifters in the class, classes had been pretty quiet and dull I must say. Oh well, everyone has their different path to walk right? Farewell is never a easy thing to do.

 Tioman Island!!!

Our little reward after working hard for two months. From Lang Tengah to Pulau Rawa, but in the end, we ended up at Pulau Tioman which can be easily access by plane. It had been almost a year after our last Pulau Perhentian trip, how we miss our island getaway! Now when I think about it, I miss the smell of sea breeze, wearing bikini around without fearing that everyone is staring, feeling the soft sands below my feet, dive into the chilly water, drinking V-Soy at night while staring at the sky, Counting the stars, surrounded by duty free goods etc. Arrrrrr~~~ The serenity and peaceful surrounding, I miss!

B's 21st Birthday

Same like mine, it was a simple and quiet celebration. I cracked my head from months to make sure that it is a memorable one for him, and i hope it was. =) 21 small surprises! haha..With limited cash in my hands, it is very hard to squeeze out 21 surprises okay! Come to think of it, I am still in short of one. Oppsss!

Haloween~~

This year's Haloween was quite amusing as well, considering Jon with his moves which kept small kids entertained. =p Not forgetting, Wei Ren with his very HOT mask that made him sweat like a pig really! haha..

Moving on, we have Miss Dolores's 20th Birthday dinner!
It was a simple dinner with the few of us..Giving eye signals to everyone to write in the card, going into the toilet one after another thinking that she did not realize it. =p Im looking forward for your 21st Birthday!

I Chopped Off My Hair!

On a very rare occasion, I have the sudden urge to chop off my hair and I DID! I wanted to have a change, a new and fresher look instead of long straight hair all the time, so i went and chopped it off without second thought. Yes, I do miss my long hair now, but I did not regret doing so. At least I tried something new and different instead being the boring old me. =p

Kar Woon's 21st Birthday

Not forgetting Wai Mae's Birthday party, unfortunately I can not attend because I need to work on that day.I knew she had a blast one also. =) Kar Woon's Birthday party was rather a touchy one for me. She had been through a lot of hard time in these few months and slowly learning how to stand up by herself. Listening to what she said on her toast, made me realize that hey, I have to appreciate everything that I had learnt through this years and appreciate everything that I have now. =)

Not forgetting our Cameroon trip, Winter Solstice and also Xmas celebration that I just updated not long time ago.

Even by looking at my hair, I realize I had change tremendously in terms of appearance in year 2010. Let's have a look at the crazy camwhorer's 2010's essence! haha..kononnya~~ =p
I intentionally choose some weird pose pictures for fun! =p I took damn a lot of pictures this year! tsk tsk tsk

After writting this, I realize that I had achieved quite a lot this year. Not only I had maintained my results, I manage to pull off two months of work just to earn money, had a few successful plans, manage to stay healthy all year round ( THANK GOD REALLY! XD ) and surprisingly happy at ALL time. Compared to two years back, this year I am on cloud nine!

Now I really believe then if you keep a positive mind and make yourself as happy as you can, everything will go on smoothly. Many people said they are happy to see me this happy now, and indeed, I am very very satisfied with where I am now and how lucky I am today.

I must say thank you to my parents who had been treating me very good this year. I did not received much scolding, nagging yes ( How can you avoid that right? =p ). Thanks for supporting me with my very expensive tuition fees, and thanks for reminding me that I always have my family's back. I can not wait to see my huge family portrait hanging on the living room's wall! =)

To all my friends who had helped me whether in my studies or just being my happy pills and gossip partners, thanks for being there even though some are miles and miles away from me. Oh yes, surprisingly I did not meet any fakers and bitches this year! hmmmmm..A sign of a good year for me! muahahaha! XD To those who are true to me, you guys rock my world and I love you all! =)

And to that special person who brought light to my world, many words had been said whether in email form, in card, vocally, or in blog. All I can say is, thank you for continuously shinning my world with hopes, happiness and love. Thanks for giving me the chance to love you and thanks for being with me all the time. Because of you, 2010 had been the greatest year I ever had. =) I love you Baby Aaron.

I guess this ultra long post will wrap up year 2010. I shall welcome year 2011 with high hopes and anticipation that it will be as good as year 2010, if can, Better! =)

So Au revoir 2010, Hello 2011!!!

The 18th

18 months and still counting

It is not a overly fancy romantic celebration, not a full of surprises night, but a simple dinner with the two of us. What else do you need right? What more, these few months our money will be pretty tight. Birthday coming (^^o),  Valentines Day (^^), KK trip (^v^), France Trip (^^,)..Money is going to flow out~~~~ But hey! Ang Pao money also lai lai lai!!! =p

Finally, we decided to full fill my long waited korean date dream, which is Korean BBQ!!!! My saliva was literally dripping whenever i see anyone eating Korean BBQ! I had been bugging B for the past few months and finally, his ears can rest from the never ending Korean BBQ chanting.

Dae Jang Geum Korean Restaurant SS14

It is a very simple korean BBQ restaurant, it was a bit quiet when we reached there. But as we sat longer, the crowd started to come in and its on a weekday. So I must say, they must be doing pretty well. We ordered pork belly and marinated lamb for BBQ and a spicy tofu soup. I am a huge fan of korean soup, so I die die also want to order one. =p The service is pretty quick and the food comes out very soon after you placed your order. The service staffs will fill up the tables with banchan and started to work on our bbq meat.

Our whole tables were soon filled with all these delicious banchan. We have some apple, jap cucumber and potato salad, pickled cockles, zucchini tempura, Kimchi of course ( This one is a little too salty for my liking =( ), pickled brinjal, cold tofu, steamed tofu, taugeh, anchovies with peanuts, spinach and also my spicy tofu soup. Each and every banchan is seasoned well and it all taste good! I like!

Cooking Cooking..^^

Marinated Lamb!! THE BEST DAMN THING!

It is DAMN well marinated and the flavors just burst in your mouth! Love this!!!

Ended our meal with papaya and also some kind of tong sui. No idea what it is, but something like a barley and ginger tong sui.

I seriously thought that we could not finish everything because the table was full of food. But at the end of the meal, we swept everything clean! muahahaha! Do I feel guilty for eating so much of meat? Nope! =p I am finally satisfied!!! No more bugging B about korean food for at least a month.

Went over to Jaya One for a drink before heading home. What is better than Guinness on the tap?

Slurpppssss~~

18th months~~

For others we may seems like married couple in a way, and yes, I will not deny it either. We are like a married couple, the only thing missing is the paper and wedding ceremony. =p I am currently undergoing my housewife training, and also learning the art of understanding man. Have I succeeded? Well, we humans are never satisfied with what we have don't we? It is a never ending learning journey and you need a lot of patience and tolerations along the way. B is the one with the all the patience and tolerance in the world towards me.

These few days, B had been fetching me everywhere for my dissertation without any grudges or complaints. Even today before I conduct my interview, Carmen said see how much he sayang you. I instantly felt guilty for troubling him. If it is not because of him, i think i might have lose my way. He gave me new pointers, ideas and also assisting me along the way by calming me down whenever I faced some dead ends. I truly thank him from the bottom of my heart for being my mentor, calm guru, happy pill and also my lover.

Thank You, my angel from heaven.

Je t'aime beaucoup et merci beaucoup. <3

Dissertation, hair and bears

Holidays are ending pretty soon..hmmm..I don't know whether it is a good thing or a bad thing..

Firstly my dissertation..@@ I did not know finding the right people to interview can be this hard and frustrating. Numerous emails were sent and only ONE person replied. I guess managerial people don't like to reply emails? Well, another reason is because I am afraid of rejection. I do not have the guts to pull out my phone to reach out for those people yet. I am afraid that they will reject me on the spot and totally downed my level of confidence. So far, two interview had been conducted and another one done by tomorrow. I was targeting 12 people to interview, and now after knowing it is almost like mission impossible unless I become super thick face and have to trouble B to fetch me around, i had down graded my target to at least 8 people.

Stressed~~

Maybe I am too ambitious at the very first place to choose this dissertation title, I thought it would be different and interesting. Yes. The findings so far are pretty interesting ( even though only two interviews were done ), but it is the finding people process that is excruciating. And oh, it is so hard to motivate myself to start on my literature review. I know I should not push myself to hard, but hey, holiday is almost ending! == ( By writing this and reminding myself that holiday is almost ending, actually motivated me a bit to start reading some journals. haha )

Did I tell you I am missing my long hair? huhuuuuuu~~

I missed it long and straight

I missed it when it is this curly..

I MISS LONG HAIR!!!!!!!!

Kee Sern..you can say 'I've told you so now..' haha. It is growing now, but going through some transition period where i am scare it will curl everywhere. Please stay straight for me...Gambate hair, you can do it!

I did not realize that Mid Valley's Xmas decorations were so nice this year until we went and watched a midnight movie another day. The pictures are not clear because the lightings are pretty dark..

It is like a children's wonderland! From far, B said there are huge bears in front. I was like, no..how can there be such huge bears..it must be porcelain or something..Then I realize i was totally wrong..those are REAL HUGE Teddy Bears! Then I went crazy..muahahaha

This bear is HUGE!

B joined the me..=p

How I wish I can curi all of them home..=(

After some midnight 'window shopping', I had this secret wish I wanted to achieve in my heart.Let me share it with you..=p

One fine night, I will imitate ALL those poster's model's pose and snap a picture like this in Mid Valley..=p

Alright, I am going crazy now..Off i go...to try and read some journals..=(

Xmas 2010

Let's talk about Xmas Xmas Xmas..Let the pictures do the talking shall we? =p

Xmas Eve Dinner's Menu! Dominoes pizza, Roasted beef with balsamic mushrooms

Well, since we will be cooking for Xmas dinner the next day, we decided to order Dominoes pizza to save all the hassles of cooking and cleaning..=p but we still made roast beef and balsamic vinegar! Awesome thing!!

The next day was spent by cooking cooking and more cooking because me and b were the chefs for dinner..We cooked everything ourselves except for the roast chicken..=p too much of trouble to roast chicken for 15 people so Aunty got it ordered instead..=)

What's on the menu?

French Onion soup with garlic bread, Pasta with tomato sauce, Roasted chicken with roasted potato and honey balsamic carrot, Kentucky Pork Chop with mole sauce, Cherry Butter Cake and Red Wine Sangria.

Talking about the Kentucky Fried Pork Chop, it really tasted like KFC chicken, no joke. We used the Mexican Mole Sauce to marinate the pork chop for half a day, coated it with flour and deep fry it. The end results, it looks like KFC, and taste like KFC! Thumbs up to both of us! hahaha..=p

The dinner started off with some prayers, and singing! OH YAY! I was the pianist. @@ My hands were practically stiff because I think i played the piano not more than ten times this year. tsk tsk. It was okay, but just a few songs that I was not familiar with gave me a shock of a life time. After that, it is time to nom nom nom. After all the nom nom and cleaning, it is time to give out the pressies! =) I did not know they actually have this little ceremony to give out pressies. Loving it. =p

Us posing with our pressies..I find my hair pretty amusing..=p

One thing really special about Xmas this year, Aaron is officially an uncle and I am an aunty..==" hahahaha..I will explain it later..Aaron's brother brought back his daughter for Xmas to meet with everyone..Everyone was so excited to see her because she is the first baby of our generation in the family..Introducing Baby Sarah!

So adorable right? haha..Since Aaron is her uncle, it is pretty normal that I will be the aunty right? Aaron's sister in law will tell baby sarah to call me aunty whenever I play with her..I feel so old! haha. But come to think of it, I am old enough to be an aunt now. haha. During the dinner, baby Sarah was so ecstatic to meet so many people. She is practically smiling and having fun getting all the attention the whole night. What a cute baby..=)

Caught a glimpse of her before she went back to Penang..Aunty will miss you! hahahaha

So that wraps up our Xmas for this year. Simple and yet satisfying..=)

Even Viva celebrated Xmas..=p
