Its gonna be a food food food post! BEHOLD! =p
Seremban Yi Poh Lou Shi Fun
This is totally sin-sin-sin sinful. Why? See the picture then you will know why.
This is just a normal Sawi. BUT! What are the fried bits on top of it?
Its PORK LARD!!
And a lot of it. Totally yummy and yet sinful! I only took one though! =p
This is Seremban Yi Poh Lou Shi Fun.
( Sorry it looks a bit dull because I haven't mix it up )
I went there with my family for brunch when I was in Seremban. We ordered Loh Shi Fun for everyone, some pork balls and also the sinful sawi. Loh Shi Fun was okay, the noodle is nice and its not easy to find 'lai fun' with that kind of texture anywhere. With a bits of char siew to go with it, there you go, Seremban Yi Poh Loh Shi Fun. =) And oh, if you are a fan of pork lard, you should really order the sawi. haha
Char Kuey Teow
Sometimes, you just crave for a plate of char kuey teow out of no where..
Char Kuey Teow
A plate of kuey teow goodness with just the right amount of wok hei, lots of juicy bean sprout, some fresh prawns and scrumptious 'lap cheong', add an egg to go with it and top it up with some cockles, there you go, a perfect plate of char kuey teow. Not oily but tasty and you just can not stop eating. Arrrr. I miss that!
It is not easy to find good char kuey teow everywhere you know. Seremban has one as well, the one that uses charcoal to fry the kuey teow. I have not get the chance to take the picture of it yet, I will one day, one day.
Jalan Alor Fish Head Noodle and Tom Yum Seafood Noodle
One day before reporting for work a few years back, I wanted to have a filling lunch before starting my hectic work. So I headed to Jalan Alor all by myself and just start walking along the street. So a shop caught my eyes because there are so many people eating. Without any hesitation, I went in to try out the noodles.
After that, I have no luck at all because either my timing is wrong or I just did not open my eyes wide enough, I just can't find this shop again. And that day, I finally found it!
They specialize in Fish Head Noodle and Tom Yum Seafood Noodle. If you are not a fan of fish head, you can certainly choose the fish paste noodle as it is equally tasty as fish head noodle. And that is what I did. =)
My Fish Paste Noodle
It is hard to get homemade fish paste or fish ball nowadays because it is very labour intensive and people prefer to order it from the factory. So, I always appreciate good fish paste and fish ball whenever I can find one. And this stall is certainly not disappointing. It has a right fish paste texture which is not too chewy and not too lumpy. Just the way you want your fish paste to be.
B ordered Tom Yum Seafood Noodle
B can not take prawn so they exclude the prawn and added some fish paste inside. Once you smell this little devil and just the look of it, you know it is going to be a hot hot noodle. And, it really does lift it to its name, its really spicy! haha. This stall is quite generous with the seafood they put in as you can find a lot of sotong, fish paste and lala in it. But beware, its spicy and hot! =)
While sitting down slurping noodles, I can not help to notice every guests eating the noodle with tapau a packet of rojak from this stall. I wanted to try their keropok so bad but my stomach just don't allow me to do so because I am just too full. Another time maybe.
The Loaf
Are you a fan of bread? I am a huge fan really. I just love the smell of freshly bake bread from the oven and was attracted to The Loaf while walking in Pavilion. The smell of pastries and coffee is just so mesmerizing. I could not help myself to buy some because it is just too tempting.
B choose the Focaccia bread
The smell of this little bread can make you fly I am telling you! haha. It still smells like it is freshly baked from the oven even when it is cold.
My something something
Haha. Sorry. I forgotten the name of this bread really. I never heard it before but it taste great. It has a whole load of coconut shreds, topped with sugar and some chocolate chips. I ate this as my dessert even though it is a bread. I don't care! :p
Coffee Butter Cake
My current baking love, Coffee Butter Cake. Since my mum ( The person who complains about everything! ) said it is good and brothers sapu-ed everything when I brought it home, I shall conclude this as my successful home baked cake.
This time we added some chocolate chips in it. And it is just as nice as the original. =)
It has a nice aroma of Nescafe coffee with bits of walnut, and some sweet little raisins topped with chocolate chip. Add your own Vanilla Ice Cream and this is a champion dessert. =P
Homemade Burger
Firstly, you will need a toasted bun with margarine, topped with cheese and tomatoes
Then some Balsamic white button mushroom with onion
Add some Lettuce and homemade beef patty
Voila! You have a homemade burger goodness!
I can tell you, homemade burger is way better than Mcd's burger! It is so healthy! The beef patty we added some wholemeal breadcrumbs that we made ourselves and soak it with milk so the patty will be moist but not dry. Add lots of vegetables like lettuce and tomato so you will not feel that it is that heavy. You think this is small? It is huge I am telling you, almost the size of Carls Jr burger! haha.
If you are free, you should really try and make your own burger. =)
