2011 Year Summary

Its the end of the Year 2011 already, how fast time flies ya. Going through my facebook pictures and everything that happened in this year just came back to me..So let's see what I did in year 2011..XD

Then comes the second best part of the year, Krabi trip..=) =)

Love the sunshine and beach! =) =)

And now, we are working in Singapore

Going through all my pictures, I realize that this year was indeed a fruity year for me. I had been through the toughest part of the degree year which is doing dissertation, completed my classes, and ended my student life with a distinction. I had flew all the way to France and experienced the best time of my life there, flew to Krabi and had a great time enjoying the sunshine and good food, traveled down to Singapore with my family to visit Universal Studio. Besides ending my student life, I also manage to secure a job in Singapore and settled down from where I am blogging now. haha. A hell of a ride, but all worth while. XD

I think I had manage to achieve most of the things I had expected myself to do so last year, and bravo to that! hahahaha. *Self praising*..=p Well I think in life when you have achieved the goal that you have set for yourself, it is worth praising for. At least for myself la..haha..Now that I am at working phase now, time to set new goals for myself and work towards a better future! Fuh!

Nevertheless, I am grateful for things to work out so well for me and I am thankful to all my family, friends and my dear B for being there for me, and being supportive towards what I do. Love you all, and let's pray hard that 2012 would be a better year. =)

Ho ho ho

Oh yes, MERRY CHRISTMAS to all! =) I was too busy at work these few days I couldn't get myself to blog because I was too tired...but nevertheless blessed Christmas to all...

These few days has been really tiring and I was behind the dip case ( Scooping Ice Cream ) most of the time as they do not have enough staffs to cater for the large crowd. If you think it is an easy task, mind you, it is tiring as hell. Scooping ice cream for 3 or 5 customers may not be a problem, but when the crowds started to flood the dip case and you have to scoop fast to clear the line, that is when it is the most tiring. My hands and clothes were stained with ice cream, sweating, energy almost gone but still needs to continue scooping, refilling the ice cream bulks which weights around 6-7kg each.Yeap, my Christmas was pretty much spend on work. TT

After working for one and half month, this is what I get =>

Mini Mouse! haha. I am not joking though. I can really feel my biceps muscle now. =p Hopefully I can maintain it alright?

Its almost the end of the year now, time for summary of year 2011 ya! That, I will do it on another day so I need to go to bed now. Time for some real work at my outlet tomorrow. Hope for the best! =)

Its going to be payday soon! YAY!!!!

Responsibilities

Life here..

Everyday we have a same routine, but nevertheless, the responsibilities are growing..I constantly remind myself to do better each time, to make lesser mistakes during my closing...I am not good when it comes to money, or numbers, and I knew it better than anyone..People can do it just like that, and I have to think deeply before getting to the results..When I am dealing with money, the worst thing is to do, is to give me stress. It will confuse me more, and i will take longer time to get the things done. I get very disappointed with myself at times like this, but promise myself that I will do better next time.

In the past, I was always the trainee, intern where I do not hold much responsibilities at work. But now, as I am the supervisor, things has changed and I have to accept the fact that I am no longer a trainee or intern, but a person who has certain responsibilities in hand. Trying to adjust myself and hopefully I will adapt into that position soon enough. XD

Apart from that, I had finally received my degree results!!!! YEEEEEHUUU~~ I was nervous as hell and I don't even dare to open the folder. I even used my pillow to cover my face when the results is displaying right infront of my face. haha. After half and hour or hesitation,I scrolled down to the very last page and what I saw, was just Very honorable Pass. My face immediately turned black and slowly scroll back up to see my actual results. Then I see see see, ei? My marks should be qualified for Very Honorable Pass with Congratulations from the Jury. Did I see it wrongly? Then I realize, I misread my results and it was actually Very Honorable Pass with Congratulations from the Jury!!!!!! (In another way, it is the highest honors in my course. XD)

So yeaps, I had finally achieved my degree target and I am pretty satisfied with it! Double Joy as B also received the same results as me! Cannot wait for Convocation next year! YEAAAAAHU!

Anyways, I gotta go now. Time to go to work! XD Till next time people!

Little things that I have in my mind

Greedy

Everyone tend to be greedy at one point. Like me, before I have access to internet in Singapore, I was praying hard so I can at least check my facebook and email at home without running here and there just to online. Then once we have mobile broadband, I am hoping that the speed will be faster so I could watch my drama. But come to think of it, I should be grateful to what I have now as I am able to online whenever I like at home. Be grateful, be humble. =)

Politics

Who will ever like politics at work? I am trying my best not to get involve in any conflicts and remain in my peace zone. But, it is quite hard to resist myself from not liking certain people that I work with. Reasoning is simply because our working culture and attitude contradicts. I don't like to clean up other's work, and I certainly hate people who sulk up on me just because they want to make sure I will not back out on them. Well sorry sister, I will only do the right thing and will not disintegrate my working principle for something that I know is wrong. But again, there are always people that will guide you along the way, and these are the kind of professionalism that I respect and look up upon.

The Dish Washer - Ah Ne

When I work, I like to work with people who are sincere at what they do. Like the dish washer Ah Ne in my restaurant, he works for more than 12 hours in a day and yet, he will never loose his smile. He cycle to work everyday even though his house is quite far away and then again, he is never late. I respect him a lot, hence I always, without fail will thanked him whenever I pass him the dirty dishes that I had cleared. One day, I say thank you in Hindu to him and oh my, his face instantly light up and sincerely smiled back at me. If only everyone has this kind of working attitude at work, hmmmmm.

Muscles?

During my last internship, most of it was office work, hence I rarely need to carry heavy things and walk around with the speed of light. But ever since I started work in Singapore, I have to carry heavy groceries whenever I go for groceries shopping, clearing heavy plates moving things etc. I think, I have developed some bicep muscles. Yay! haha.

Lousy System

I finished my final exams in May and my results are only out on the first week of December. ( The office lady said our results should be out in November when I first asked ) And now, I was told that our convocation will only be held on May 2012. What is this man! I was happily telling everyone that my convo will be held in February and now, it is postpone. Grrrrrr. And yeap, I will only receive my degree certificate after my convo. *sigh* What if I really need that certificate to apply for job? What if my company will only hire me after they see my degree certificate? ( Well, the company that I work with doesn't mind much so thank god.) *long sigh*

Worried

My results are out, and I have no idea what I had scored. Will it be a straight distinction? Or will it not be as what I hope for. Damn. Why do I always have to be so worry for my academic results? Honestly right, my results will not affect much on my future as most companies only need your degree certificate and working experiences. It matters to me in a personal way because I take it as my life achievement. I was hoping that I can keep up with all my previous record since primary school and end it with a good record. It is not kiasu, it is just my personal challenge. =) So please, give me something good. Pray hard Pray hard.

Hello Hello!!!!!

HELLOOOOO! Greetings from Singapore!!!! Finally I am connected with the world baby!!! Gosh, who would have knew internet could be SO DAMN important ya.I have been here for two weeks already, going three and I finally got my FIRST, REAL half month salary. haha. Well, i must say, it is really a hard earn money. Gotta keep it really safe and use it wisely in December.

Living in Singapore, is not as easy as we thought as we have limited cash for a start, but at the same time, it is not as hard as we thought. We thought we will have to work our butt off here, but hey, it is quite relaxing ya and we are loving it. Of course you will not encounter much problem because its only less than a month, the demon will only creeps in after some time. Right? But, we are learning new things and learning how to handle an outlet. So, no complaints. =) By the way, we are fed well also because there are always something to eat in the restaurant. haha.

Talking about money, we really really try and save as much as we could when it comes to food. When we go out and order food, it will not be more than 3 dollar for one person ( for a meal), and we are constantly looking around for cheaper options. Then once we had saved enough money to buy a rice cooker, we managed to save even more as we do not have to eat outside that often anymore. Our rice cooker is like our life savior now as we are so dependent on it. We use it to cook rice, cook soup and even pasta. Amazing right? Pictures will be up soon once I have more time on the net. haha.

And thanks to the money that we had saved through home cooking, we are able to get A mobile broadband now. Yeaps, we are only sharing one for the moment. Well, you need to pay a deposit of 200SGD ( for work permit holder) to get a mobile broadband service. Sucks I know, but what to do? So even though the speed now is quite bad, but no complaints, at least I have internet connection now.

All in all, it is a great learning experience for both of us as we are doing this together.Even achieving a simple goal like saving enough money to buy a rice cooker is such a huge accomplishment for us. Soon, we will be raising our bar and slowly getting things to make our life more comfortable here. So yeap, that is all for now and thanks to our mobile broadband, I can update more frequently now. YEAHUUUU....=)

Im leaving, on a bus...^^

2 more days...

I can't believe that I am leaving Malaysia to Singapore in two days...I am feeling anxious and excited at the same time. Anxious because I am leaving my home, family and friends, Excited because a whole new life is awaiting me.

There are so many things that I still want to do here, like eating everything that I will miss in the future, meeting everyone, just relax at home and do nothing, catch up with all the dramas etc. But, time is never enough isn't it? No matter how much of time you have in hands, with a blink of eyes, its gone.

A whole new life. New job, new place to stay, new environment, new people, gosh. Its a bit overwhelming actually. Everything I have to do from scratch myself, everything that I do is on my responsibility, yeap, it is all on me now.

How would it be like? I guess I will only know after I am there and experiencing it myself. Just hope everything will go on well, I will like and enjoy my first job. When I reach Singapore, I don't think I will have access to internet so soon as I need to settle down first. Hence, pray hard that everything will fall into place smoothly, and I can  say that I am ready to rock Singapore once I am back online. =)

So yeap, I will be busy packing up my things and getting ready to move to the big city. To everyone who loves me and care about me, I will take good care of myself in Singapore. So yeap, till next time! Love u all!

Frusfrated

Some words are mean and hurtful, but you never realize that.
You just blurp out whatever that is in your mind without looking back
I rather remain silent, and keep everything to myself

Why I can speak out my mind to other people but not my closest?
Is it my fault?
Or it is just me who must change?

If I have a choice, I will not even ask for that favor
But I do not have the ability now, hence I have no choice

No matter how much effort I had put in something
It is never enough.
Why?

Even after I get a job, there are still complaints
There are always complaints no matter what I do
Get good results so what?
Get scholarship so what?
Get a job so what?
It is never good enough

It is not that I don't know how to think for myself
But it is them who thinks that I don't know how to think for myself
Think higher of me, because I am more mature that what you think

Why should I do things to please other people?
It is my life, and I will walk to path that I want to

Frustrated....

That is why I want to start fresh...Start from zero

Bring it on!

Nowadays when you look around, you see so many people getting married, having children even though they are at my age or younger. Then you think again yourself, are you mature enough to handle all the responsibilities?

I am a person, who walks by my plan. When I have a plan, means I had thought about it thoroughly and know that it is the best choice for me. I don't just only plan ahead, but really far ahead. If you ask me now, what are my plans for the next five, I can answer you with no doubt, but! Plans may differ due to unforeseeable variables like 2012, economic ups and downs, human relationships etc.

After a one-on-one talking session with myself, I realize that at this stage, I am not ready to take the big step yet. Not because I have not met the right guy, in fact, B is the best thing that could ever happened to me. Personally, I do not think that I am mature enough when it comes to my mental strength, and also I need time to work on my financial base before starting a family. Therefore, I am giving myself 3-4 years time to boast my EQ and also to fill in my bank with $$.

After all the hoohah, everything had calmed down and things will go as what we had planned earlier. Thank god. I also realize that everyone who is around me really care about me and love me a lot even though they are not  very expressive about it. And, I would also like to thank B for being so patient and supportive towards me, and thank god that I had found you in my life. No one, would have done things like how you did, and no one, would have chosen and accept me like how you did.

Two more weeks, and I am leaving Malaysia on a whole new journey in life ---- joining the work force. Excited? Well, to be frank I am quite excited. I know it would be challenging, tiring and also very stressful, but this is what life is about isn't it? Accept the challenge and survive! haha.

Bring it on!!!

Trimmed

Im such a lazy bum when I am back in Malaysia when it comes to blogging. haha. Oh well, I was busy catching up with my drama and tv at home you see. Anyway, today I finally trimmed my eyebrow! Yeeeehu. I  always have this very thin eyebrow and I don't even dare to do anything with it because I was thinking since I have such little eyebrow left, why should I even trim it.

And today, I had a chance to do so after following Kar Woon to Zeranium. I ended up having a back massage session and had my eyebrow trimmed. Honestly, I can live with this everyday! hahaha. It was very relaxing and not awkward at all considering it was my very first time. I felt so pampered after the session ended. Now I know, once in a while you got to reward yourself by doing these ya. Hmmm. I have start changing my mind set from now. haha. Anyways, I am really satisfied with how my eyebrows are now since it is nice and neat. Gotta work hard on maintaining it from now onwards! =)

Time is literally going by faster every day and it is a bit terrifying knowing that I have to start packing and leave Malaysia soon. Damn. Slow it down already! TT I still want to enjoy doing nothing at home without worrying about time, date, work and money. But no matter what it is, I will make the most out of the time I have now.

Sorry for being very vain, but my camwhoring juice were flowing because I was wore Cheongsam the other day. Hence, these pictures keke ::

A great week ahead for everyone and as for me, im going on a makan makan trip to Melaka with my family! =)

First time backpacker hostel

Have you guys stayed in a backpacker hostel before? 20 person Mixed Dorm to be exact? haha. Well, my first was in Singapore and currently, I am in another backpacker hostel in Singapore. I always wanted to know how it feels like to stay in one, and hey, my first experience was not bad at all.

The first one that I stayed in Singapore was the BEST! Its call the Beary Good Hostel located in Pagoda Street, Chinatown Singapore. It was remarkably small, but, clean and cozy. The bed was ready as we arrived, clean pillow sheets, blanket and bedsheet. Air con can be on the whole day, you get free milk, tea and coffee the whole day, free wifi, laptops and even an ipad for the guests to use. Yes, you are sharing a room with total strangers around you, but, it is somehow very safe. You have your own key cards so you can use whenever you are going out, and because of this, it is very secure. It will only cost you SGD26 for one bed for one night, owh, breakfast included as well. =) One thing that I must mentioned though, the location of this hostel is VERY strategic. You just alight from Chinatown MRT ( Pagoda Street exit ), and you can see the hostel right on your left. How convenient is that? I miss there already! TT

As compared to my first experience, the one I am staying now, is fairly bland. Well, it is SGD6 cheaper than Beary Good, but, you only have half an hour usage of internet on the computer, you have to walk quite a bit from the MRT station ( We were lost while finding for the hostel. ), and oh, the location. Hmmmm. In the morning, it is perfectly normal actually. But once the sun sets, everything changes. Neon lights, girls? Does it ring any bell to you? haha. Well, I don't even dare to go out of the hostel at night. Dang. And, I have to stay here for one week! =( Hence, turning myself into books. ( I am even amaze by how fast I can finish a book.)

When you are staying in this kind of backpacker hostel, it is no surprise that you will encounter with people from all over the world, US, UK, Aussie you name it, not forgetting sharing the same room with them. Hmmm. haha. Waking up with hunky topless guy in the same room as you, *ahem* is pretty normal here. But, it doesn't surprise me really, because I am use to it already? haha. That, is the good part. Bad part, is when someone started to snore at night. Dang! Close your nose or mouth already! haha..

Besides all those, you get to hear live world broadcast right in the lounge as people started to talk about their culture, things that are going on around, some they even talk about Malaysia. ( Which I have to disagree at times though I kept quiet and mind my own business. Come on! You have a native Malaysia in the house yo. haha. ) It is pretty interesting at times. But being a typical Asian, I am not as friendly as most of them as I just want to do my own things quietly. Ahhh. This has to change one day or so. haha.

Well, that's my experience staying at a backpacker hostel. What about yours? =)

=)

Scare much? It is not like I had never done this before, in fact, I have always been moving here and there. But, this is different of course. Finding house in foreign land ( well, not so foreign. Even some locals said I am more familiar with places around than them.=p ), going through all the hustle bustle or working permit, medical check ups, finding for jobs, going through interview etc. Everything is new to me, a starting of a whole new journey.

It is tiring to travel up and down just to settle things, hope it is worth it in the end. If you ask me, how many years am I planning to work here? I, really cannot say. My ultimate goal, is to earn as much as I can, save as much as I could and see whatever opportunities that are awaiting me.

But, one can never plan too far ahead as there are always other variables in life that could change your path. Right? Like what people said, just go with the flow and see where it leads to.

I am blabbering and my internet limit time is running out. haha. I miss unifi!!!! Anyways, I just need to write it out. keke. Time to go then~~ Till tomorrow..=p Happy weekend ahead..and Owh! Happy Graduation Dolores!

A little update

I, am currently in Singapore,  stoning and being a total nerd. I was so bored that I finished two books in two days..@@ Well, for the sake of saving money and not get drench or tanned, I turn to book to past time. Not bad huh? Anyways, I just got back from our Krabi Tour, and immediately transported to Singapore to settle of working permit. Within one hour after we reached Changi Airport, we have to rush over to the main office of our company. And within another hour, we were taking our medical check up. How awesome is that? TT

It was my first time doing a medical check up ( Blood test, Urine Test, X-ray and also physical test ) Blood test was okay, a whole good portion of my blood was being sucked into the test tube and sent to the test lab. Urine test was the most bizarre experience I had. I was given a bottle and was asked to pee in it.I had never done this before you see. I don't know about other people, but I can't aim perfectly. haha. Nevertheless, I still had the bottle filled. Then I was thinking damn, I got to clean this bottle properly. I took tonnes of tissue to wipe the bottle so that the nurse won't have to dirty her hands. Well, she had her gloves on, so...worried for nothing. haha. Well, my first urine test it is.

After the medical test, I was a little paranoid. What if I had HIV, what if I am pregnant? What if I have malaria somehow. Oh well, test was out today. I do not have HIV, I am not pregnant and yes, I am fit enough to past the medical test. Thank god. haha. Arrr well, I always think about the worst at times like this.

I also got my room settled while I am here. It is not a palace for sure, not as comfy or spacious as my home, but I suppose as long as I have a bed, air con, wardrobe and a place to online, it is good enough as a start. In the future, I just have to save like hell so I could afford a better room. =) Just hang in there for one year! I can do this.

While we are here this time, we tried to spend like how we are suppose to when we start working. Thinking what could be our best possible budget spent on food by roaming around market, supermarket and even experimenting with it now.Working life abroad, I am feeling it baby! Dang! I suppose this is how we learn to be independent and surviving the city. We can do this! I hope.

Anyways, I cannot wait to get home now! Last month before I start working and I have to meet up with everyone! Till next week till next week! God, I am rottening here. By the way, I cannot leave now even though I had settled most of the things because my permit card can only be collect next Wed, on the day I am flying back. Damn.

^^

Hello everyone! How are you doing this week? As for me, I am pretty much free at the moment. Meeting up with people, watching my drama at home and just, hanging around. haha. Well! I have a good news for myself! Which is, I had secured a job in Singapore, together with B! ^^ Yeap. We had just signed on our employment letter and just waiting for the company to work on our working permit! =) =) If everything goes well, we would be leaving Malaysia and start on our working life in mid November!

Currently I am still waiting for the permit to be done, then will go down to Singapore once more for medical check up and signing contract for our place to stay etc. Yeap. This month will most probably be spent on settling down in Singapore. How fast right? Just three weeks ago I had finished my internship, and in one month time, I would be in Singapore already. kekeke. Time to save some money people!

My hair is pretty long now isn't it? Can't wait for it to grow longer so I can do something with it. =) Straightening again? or dyeing it brown? Hmmmm. Still deciding. Let's wait for two months or so.

This is a bag I bought in Singapore during my previous trip down with my brother. Loving the pink!

Then while I was packing in my things, I realize that everything I had in my bag was SOOO pink! In fact everything is pink. How did I ended up to be a pink geek? haha. I suppose I was buying things in pink unconsciously and in the end, it is all pink. Oh well, time to move on to other colors. =)

I am so excited on starting a new life. Getting a place to stay, getting a new phone number, internet line, getting used to work, travelling around in MRT, you name it. Will it be the same as how I imagine it? or will it be better! Let's hope for the best shall we?

p/s Going to Krabi in a few days time! OH YEAH! Rain rain please go away...

Second phase

I had finally step on the second phase or stepping into the work life -- attending interviews. I had been sending out resumes until I even lost count of what I had applied during my internship period and had been waiting anxiously for replies from them. In the end, it all paid off and I manage to attend every interview that I had arranged during most recent trip down South.

It was a really tiring trip as I have to travel here and there for the interviews, rushing here and there just to be at the meeting place earlier, most of the time waiting for the interview time etc. Nervous much? nahhh..I just want to nail it and get it done at that time. Because I know, if I don't get it this time, i may need to go down another time and it would be a waste of time and money.

As for the results? I do not have any confirmation yet. Verbal agreement yes, but you will never know what will happen until you have the black and white documents in your hand. Till then, I will still remain hopeful and pray hard that everything will fall into place smoothly.

People said, when you apply for your first job, look for something that you truly love doing instead of focusing on the pay. Indeed, this is what I am trying to do. But of course, the pay must be reasonable as well. For now, I cannot tell that this is something that I really love doing. You need to start working for a few months first before the reality sinks in, right?

How i wish, how i wish I do not have to go through the waiting phase. Oh well, if only I can skip this part, but, it will never happen anyway. So, let's just wait. =) Wish me luck people!!!!!

Hopeful

How will you know whether you will not regret the decision you had made now? I guess only time will tell. Sometimes you have to sacrifice something for a better future, and this is one of it. I hope for a better return and it better be good. Fingers crossed!

2

Left two more working days and we are going DOWN DOWN DOWN! Cannot wait! =) =) Three and half months just flew by and hey! I will be free free free! For one month at least. =p So many plans in my head and I am just waiting for the right time to execute it. I will be busy busy running everywhere to get attend interviews, researching online, catching up with friends and also cooking of course. Gosh, how I miss homecook food and not those menggelikan cafeteria food. *vomitsss*

All those humiliating moments here, getting cursed, scolded for nothing by stupid customers will soon be forgotten, and SCREW YOU ALLLLL! Muahahahha! =p Oh well, just to release some steam. I will soon return to civilization, to normal human behaviors. XD

These few days have been really cold and misty here, as a matter of fact, the coldest I had ever been here. But luckily yesterday the sky cleared off at night and we managed to catch a glimpse of full moon on Mooncake Festival! How lucky..=) Hopefully the weather will behave until this Friday and after that, you can have all the mood swing you want.

We will be going down to Singapore again end of this month, but this time is purely to look for jobs and attend interviews. I swear...=p Hopefully we will receive some good news soon and everything will fall in place smoothly. God bless...=)

^^

Cannot wait for this Friday to come! Wohoooooooo~ At the mean time, pray hard that these two days will go by smoothly..=)

10

Ten days left till the end of my internship! OH YEAH! Who knew three months had just passed by in a blink of eyes ya. I cannot wait to end this, and gain back my sanity of a normal life down the hill. I need to keep myself updated with the world, go home and enjoy dancing in the living room alone without any disruption, cooking, sleep until sun shine on my pigu...AHHH! Just the thing I need, before jumping into the working boat.

Even though I detest working here, but in the end if you would have asked me what have I learnt here, i will say I had gained a lot working here. You can see the ugliest side of people, greedy, rude, impatient, dirty, lust, you name it.  At first I really could not understand why is there people like this on earth and how the heck can they treat others with such ignorance and disrespect. As time goes by, I realize that this is a test for me.A test for my patient level and how I can handle these kind of customers.

Imagine myself repeating what I said again and again for eight hours, everyone will ask me the same thing over and over again. Some just bump in even though I am talking to another customers, some complaint, some have some weird body odor, some smoking like no one's business, some just don't understand what I said even though I had pressed the slow button x10000000 times, and some, are just plain rude.

Customers are like that, and management? One word to describe, inconsiderate. They only care about revenue revenue revenue. When it comes to staff level, it is just, unfair. Hmmm..since it is a sensitive issue, i should just keep it low. For those who are interested, please ask me personally. =)

Oh ya, back to the main topic. Through this internship, I had learnt to not take things personally, and how to be professional no matter what shit that was thrown at me. Tell me, where else can you learn that?

Anyways, counting down ten days till my freedom!!!! =) =) =)
