Cameron Highland Day 1

Hello people! We just came back from our Road Trip to Cameron Highland! Wohooooo~ Overall, it was such a smooth ride since the beginning of our trip. Everything goes on accordingly, thanks to Google Map, my phone's GPS and of course my very 'good' navigation' skills, we manage to go to most of the places that we wanted to go. It was our first time driving long distance and I must say, it has been an adventure. =)

Very Very excited for our trip! =)

DAY 1

We took off early in the morning to avoid the horrendous jam in KL and we did! It is a clear and smooth ride all the way up to Cameron Highland.I drove also! haha.Well at least I drove for 40+km so B won't feel so tired because of long distance driving. I think this is only the second time I drove B's car. tsk tsk..We took Simpang Pulai route instead of Tapah route to Cameron because the roads are wider and it is not so steep. It only took us three hours plus to reach Cameron Highland. This is by car. From what I read online, if you take bus, it will be between 4 hours to 5 hours.

Such a relief to see this sign..=p

On the way to Kampung Raja, we stopped by a few places because we are already in the mood for visitings..=p

Green View Garden

The first thing that caught my eye! DESSERTSSSSS~~~( its only 11am =p)

They have this little garden and farms inside with arrays of flowers, vegetables and fruits like grapes! ( Malaysia can grow grapes..i wonder whether they can make wine from it? haha ), passion fruits ( which I don't bother to take because the ones growing in my house in way bigger than the ones they had here =p ), strawberries of course and some chicken and turkey! haha

But I must say, the best thing here issssss~

Strawberry strudel

This is a very easy and straightforward dessert. Puff pastry layered with strawberries, whipped cream and pastry. Simple and yet, so nice. The crunchy and buttery puff pastry, the sweet and sour strawberries and the oh-so creamy whipped cream and pastry cream, oh yes, I am already missing this. =(. It is priced at RM7.50 for one, but if you compare it with KL price, i think it is still worth it.

Us us us..

Hillview Inn is where we stayed on our first night..First impression when we reached there, we made a right choice. It looks so cozy...=)

Right?

We had a bit of problem finding for our room as we did not aspect it to be at the front where you have the best view. haha. We have two balconies and an attached bathroom.

B is excited to see our room!

The view from our room..not too bad huh?

It started to rain heavily after we checked in so I took a short short nap before my tummy started to grumble...Okay..I am hungry and I need food! Let's go makan even though it is raining..=p

It is freezing cold when it is raining!
Restaurant Fern Nyonya

I read about this restaurant online and decided to check ourself in as I am very hungry and it is just around the block. We ordered Stir Fry Beef with Pineapple  and Tom Yum Soup. Who would not crave for a hot and spicy tom yum soup when it is freezing cold? Overall the dish is pretty satisfying as we are too hungry and cold. haha. Not the best, but enough to fill our tummy and keep us warm.

After we finish eating, the rain gradually stops and we went wandering around Tanah Rata..Personally, I think Tanah Rata is where all the cafes are allocated, serving Malaysian and western cuisines. You can find pretty descent desserts like Chinese tong sui and western desserts along the streets.Do spend some time walking exploring the street as you may surprise yourself with some nice things to eat. =)

The sun is out out and just in time for Night Market.=)

We drove up to Brinchang for their famous Night Market. The crowd is already there when we reached Brinchang around 6pm.
Ramai Orang!

So what do you do when you go to a night market? Search for food of course!

FOOD!

You can not miss the fried food they have along the street. Must must try their fried oyster mushroom, kinchan/kimchan flower, and of course sweet potato balls!!! But I must warn you before eating a sweet potato ball, you may have A LOT of air after eating it. So, be careful! =p Even if you are not a fan of corn, when you are in Cameron Highland, it is a must must to eat at least one. Especially the Jagung Mutiara. It is sweet and it can even be eaten raw. You can have it rebus( boiled), Bakar ( bbq) or in cup.

So what we have for dinner?

Char Kuey Teow

Asam Laksa

Both actually taste quite okay and nice considering we are at a Night Market. Satisfied our hungry tummy.=p
And that wraps up our first day at Cameron Highland. =)

Seremban 123

Well..it has been a very fruity weekend and I am so caught up with Grey's Anatomy that I felt lazy to update my blog. tsk tsk. I must say, the series is getting more and more interesting after Meredith married Shepard. Well, drama aside, let's talk about other things.

December December, the month that I fear the most, and the month that I love the most. So many things had been going on recently and I felt that the time is moving so so fast. Year 2010 is ending soon, so fast? Let's talk about family. My family is getting bigger, thanks to B and Amelia ( My brother's gf ). I am not sure whether it is because of this reason, but my parents seem to be happier compare to last time, and we started to be more like a family now.

You know, whenever I go back Seremban by myself, my parents would probably just go out and tapau something or go out and have something normal to eat, If my mum is in the mood to cook, then i may have soup to drink. But when B comes down, my mum will start cooking a storm in the kitchen. When my brother came back from Sabah and B came down from KL, fuh, even more food to eat. No we don't go out and eat, my mum cooks everything!

Saturday Afternoon after our family photoshooting, we had steamboat at home..

mummm mummm

I like the green chilli =)

Fu chok my love! slurrrrpp

Roast pork anyone? my mum asked the butcher to cut it this huge! slurrrrppp

ROAST PORK!!!!

A few years back, i would probably say no to this goodness because it is fattening! I was weight conscious at that time, and don't ask me why. Then when I am starting to accept the fact that I am not fat and I should not restrain myself from eating all this good stuffs, I am now loving roast pork especially the skin! haha. While munching away my huge piece of roast pork, Amelia in another hand separates the fats and skin of her roast pork and gave it to my brother. This is SO me last time. =p

Wheeee~~

The younger generation! XD

After stuffing myself with all the good stuffs, I actually went for my afternoon nap. >.< I am seriously becoming a pig. The next afternoon, my mum got herself busy in the kitchen since morning making pasta, chicken wings, soup and coleslaw for lunch. Oh my, my tummy. See! My brother and b should come home often so we can have more home cook food.

Besides that, we even attended Miss Kar Woon's 21st Bday Party.

Quite a lot of people came, and it was like a little Puteri Gathering among ourselves. Had a great time meeting and chatting with everyone. =) As for the birthday girl, you look great and happy now, i am sure everyone is glad for you. As you said, 21st years old already, it is time to grow up and learn how to be independent. Learn how to cook! haha. I am sure you will do great after all that you had been through, and you have all our back! Love you girl! =)

Oh! I bought this dress from online! Nice ya!

I bought three dresses through online and all three dresses arrived safely in my hands on time. The dress above is one of it and also my favorite. One of the dress is a little too loose on me, but I suppose when I wear it with a belt it will look okay. Good buy good buy!

Today, I realize that my handbag weights 1kg!! haha. Well, I was trying to weight myself when I saw a scaling machine in the mall, with my bag on. When I saw it was 41kg, i was shocked! I gained 2 kg in three days??? Then b said put down your bag and see. I put down my bag, step on the scale without my slippers on..39kg. Meaning, I am carrying 1kg of junks in my bag everyday! And I don't even have a water bottle in my bag. tsk tsk tsk.

I just got back my dissertation proposal, no problem so far and I can finally get started on my work. Find people for interview! I need to email people, call people, interview people, and wait patiently for their reply. Loads of work to be done, but! Let me enjoy my holiday first! WHEEEE~~~ I can not wait for tomorrow!!!

We are going on a road trip to Cameron Highland, by car. Well, we never drove long distance before, apa lagi Cameron Highland. I had been in Cameron a few times but since it is B's first time there, I am as excited as it was my first time there. haha. It is dreadfully hot these few days and I can not wait to get chilled in Cameron. It better be cooling over there. I want a lot lot of fresh air, strawberries, fresh vegetables, great afternoon tea, and relaxation! Oh how i miss it. =)

Bonne Voyage to us!!

p/s It is finally happening, let's face it. I can do it!!! Shooh away you miserable problem! =)

Family

2nd post of the day! wheeeee~

As I said my brother came back from sabah, my uncle and his families came down from Singapore too..My uncle is retiring and we are suppose to celebrate his retirement..I have not seen them for a while because the last time they came down I was having my exams..if I remember it correctly. So the first thing my uncle and aunty said when they saw me, how come you became so thin? Diet ar? haha..I think I am getting used to people asking me this question..

As usual we went out for lunch in  Chinese Restaurant..My My..We have our own private room with karaoke machine inside...typical Chinese Meal isn't it? haha. No one sang of course because we were too shy. *ahem* well, somehow I don't dare to sing in front of my uncle and I find it irritating to hear people singing out loud during meal time. In the end, we just have some back ground music at the back while eating. haha

They even have black eye peas. Not too bad huh? Not forgeting 'Nobody' by some Chinese singer. it was horrible. >.<

The ambient of the room is nice, but the food is just so-so. My uncle and his family like it though, probably because of the karaoke machine and our own private room. haha.

I like this though. So cute. =) Forgotten what it is call in Chinese. But it is some pau with kaya filling inside.

haha. I even found the chance to camwhore with it. =p

My family! We all look quite alike ya. =)

Happy Retirement Ah Bak

Recently, me and my brothers are getting along pretty well, oh wait, same goes to us with our parents. We used to not talk about many things in the past, probably because all of us were stubborn and naive. So as we grow older and more mature, my parents also realize that we are all growing up fast and leaving soon, so our relationship as a family is improving slowly. It took some time, but It is worth it in the end. My mum just need to get rid of her bad temper and stop complaining about everything, then we will be one happy family. =p

p/s I can not wait for this Saturday for the family portrait shooting. =) and of course, our trip! wheeeee~

A trip to Plan B, double trip

I have a lot of things to update and pending pictures to update..So!  guess today is a multiple post day again! =p Without further a due, presenting ========>>>>>

PLAN B

Being a sweetooth person, especially being influent by my dearest, I have sudden urges for sweet stuffs. It is not something that a candy or fruits can subside it, I need a solid nice dessert like cake, pastries or ice cream. Yeap. I do eat okay! =p Besides the over rated Secret Recipe ( Well, in Seremban we only have secret recipe. Sigh. ), it is not hard to find a nice cafe or restaurant for a descent afternoon tea in KL nowadays. And yes, we are not talking about my plan b for dessert, I am talking about the restaurant named, Plan B.

It caught my attention when I read through a few blogs mentioning the varieties of dessert they have. So we went around Bangsar Village to hunt it down and finally we found it.

So the first time we went, first impression,  cute concept. Well, it is obviously a sister restaurant of Delicious because some of the staffs I saw before at Delicious, the lighting is similiar and the sofa with pillows? Need me to say more?

Dessert hunting time!

They have cakes, tarts, pies etc

Pastries...

Their menu. Looks cute right? So old school.

We tried their blueberry muffin and chocolate mousse in our first visit.

The muffin is humongous!

Taste wise, it is not that sweet, but when you eat it with chocolate mousse, it balanced up really well because you don't feel the mousse is overly sweet. The crumbs on top adds on an extra crunchiness to the muffin and made it look huge! haha. Well, a descent muffin, not the best though.

Chocolate mousse

First bite, it was heaven! haha. Probably because we really need some dessert at that time. The chocolate is so rich but not overly sweet, the texture is just right for a mousse. For a chocolate lover, you would like this.

Mocha

If you are a coffee lover, you really should go plan B because it is so cheap! Tell me, where can you get a cup of Illy's coffee for RM5! ( I assume it is Illy's because I saw the Illy's container on the cabinet. It better be! ) Nevertheless, it taste coffeelicious! =)

On our second visit,

Dessert counter and bar

I love the way they serve water! =) It is like a huge medicine bottle and you can pour if for yourself

Orange Poppyseed cake

This is dessertly awesome! The cake is so soft and when you use your fork to cut through it, it just sinks like it has no weight. The sugar frost on top is a little too sweet for me so I don't really like it, but nevertheless, the cake is great!

Rocky Road Bar

I heard their bars are quite good so I order this sinful looking bar with marshmallow. Well, it is a bar and it should be hard. We had a hard time cutting it, but taste wise it is okay. Chocolatty and chewy. We take this away so whenever we have carvings for dessert, we can munch on this! =)

Cappuccino

This is a good good awesome cappuccino. You know you have a good cappuccino when the milk foam is made right. It should be one shot of espresso and a whole load of good and frothy milk foam that will not collapse when you sprinkle some cocoa powder on top, lastly, top it up with some warm milk so the foam will fluff up. The milk foam makes the coffee oh-so-creamy and that is why it is so important to make a good one. And Plan B succeed in making a damn good one. I wish I can learn from them. =)

Us the dessert lover.

So are you up for some dessert now? =p

Meaningless post

It has been six months long since I touched the k mic and it felt so good.though my voice is a bit spoiled, but what to do? Lack of practice and exercise. But I'm glad miss chong voice is still as strong as before. So don't worry much about it.=)your voice is still beautiful

My brother liang who is studying in kk came back today and all of us were pretty excited especially my dad. Their precious son finally came home after months away. Still so soft and shy, but became a little thinner. Ohwell, this is a student life after all. So his aim now is to eat as much as he can before flying back to kk. Thanks to my brother, I am eating pretty well too.=p

I have no idea why I have a huge craving for dessert these few days. I just feel like my meal is not complete without any sweet things to end it. I feel like baking cake, making cupcakes, making biscuits ...anything that is sweet will do. Arrr. I got influenced by my b's sweettooth

I can't wait for this Saturday..wheeee. My dad said we are going to take our very first family portrait!! B and my brother's gf is invited as well for the shooting. I have no idea how is it like so I am pretty excited about it.my dad said he is going to put the picture as his facebooking profile picture. Oh my god. And yes,my dad and aunty just created their facebooking acct. Dangerous dangerous. Have to be really careful in facebok from now onwards.I heard my mum is going to create one too. Oh oh. My brother better watch his language now. No more cursing words haha.

I'm using my baby ipod to write this post so it will be pretty short. Haha. I am just writting because I have nothing much to do at home.what is better to do other than pouring words into your blog right? Sorry if I am wasting your time reading it. Haha.my cousins are coming back from Singapore tomorrow. I forsee myself eating alot tomorrow.oh oh.it is my family tradition to eat alot whenever my uncle and their families come down. So ya. Expected myself to have a round round tummy tomorrow. =p

FOOD

Let me think, should I blogging about food or xmas? Well..I think i should go food food FOOD. =)

Home cook food again

Sometimes, you just get sick of the food you eat outside because it is full of MSG, you feel like it is not worth your money because it is bloody expensive and sometimes you don't even feel full. That is when you turn for home cook meals. Yes, it is very troublesome and time consuming, but at the end of the day, you will feel satisfied because you cook it yourself.

What is this what is this?

It is Apple Crumble

I had an urge or craving for apple crumble so we made apple crumble. It is very easy to make and you really only need apple, flour, sugar, butter, lemon and Cinnamon. The end result is fairly good, just a little too sour thats all. After all, it is our first time making this, successful!

Midnight snack, tortilla with cheese

We were starving ( Okay, let me reframe, I am starving..hahaha) at some really odd hour at night and left nothing but a piece of tortilla bread and some cheese, here we go..toast tortilla with some cheese and chili flakes. Voila! Midnight supper. =)

Yes indeed, This is crepe!

Though i sold Durian Crepe for my Entrepreneurship, I never made it on my own before. So it was my very first time making it all by myself for breakfast yesterday. And it was a success! Wohooo..It is a savory crepe though. =p I added some parsley inside.

French Crepe with curry? YES! hahaha..it is NICE..

A little bit fusion but it turns out very well. I just replace roti with crepe thats all. And oh, put some cheese on top of it..mummm mummm. haha. Surprisingly it is nice. =)

As for dinner..

Stir fried spaghetti with salted egg dory fish

Slurrrrpps

For the spaghetti, I cook it with some carrots, french beans, leek, chilli,  tomato paste, garlic and onions. As for the fish, it is oat crust salted egg dory fish. I don't know why I wanted to put salted egg in this dish, but it turns out to be nice! So. taruk saje! =p

Okay..I am feeling hungry now. No breakfast yet. =( A lot of people say I am getting thinner..When I go through my pictures I realize it too, especially my face. Some asked me to see doctor. @@ Oh well, like I said before, if i ever drop until 35, I will see a doctor. But before that, I am feeling healthy and good. =)

Sometimes, I just like low resolution camera. haha. =p Okay, this is not concerning food, but I am editing my pictures. =p Don't care!

Doll and Roses

On the last day before Christmas, I hurried to go to the supermarket to buy the remaining of the gift I didn't manage to buy earlier. When I saw all the people there, I started to complain to myself,"It is going to take forever here and I still have so many other places to go. Christmas really is getting more and more annoying every year. How I wish I could just lie down, go to sleep and only wake up after it..."

Nonetheless, I made my way to the toy section, and there I started to curse the prices, wondering if after all kids really pla ywith such expensive toys. While looking in the toy section, I noticed a small boy of about 5 years old, pressing a doll against his chest. He kept on touching the hair of the doll and looked so sad. I wondered who was this doll for.

Then the little boy turned to the old woman next to him, "Granny, are you sure I don't have enough money?"

The old lady replied, "You know that you don't have enough money to buy this doll, my dear."

Then she asked him to stay here for 5 minutes while she went to look around. She left quickly. The little boy was still holding the doll in his hand. Finally, I started to walk toward him and I asked him who did he want to give this doll to.

"It is the doll that my sister loved most and wanted so much for this Christmas. She was so sure that Santa Claus would bring it to her."

I replied to him that may be Santa Claus will bring it to her, after all, and not to worry. But he replied to me sadly.

"No, Santa Claus can not bring it to her where she is now. I have to give the doll to my mother so that she can give it to her when she goes there."

His eyes were so sad while saying this.

"My sister has gone to be with God. Daddy says that Mummy will also go to see God very soon, so I thought that she could bring the doll with her to give it to my sister."

"I told daddy to tell mummy not to go yet. I asked him to wait until  I come back from the supermarket."

Then he showed me a very nice photo of him where he was laughing. He then told me, "I also want mummy to take this photo with her so that she will not forget me."

I love my mummy and I wish she doesn't have to leave me but daddy says that she has to go to be with my little sister."
Then he looked again at the doll with sad eyes, very quietly.I quickly reached for my wallet and took a few notes and said to the boy,

"What if we checked again, just in case if you have enough money?"

"Ok," he said. "I hope that I have enough."

I added some of my money to his without him seeing and we started to count it.There was enough for the doll, and even some spare money. The little boy said, "Thank you God for giving me enough money."
Then he looked at me and added,

"I asked yesterday before I slept for God to make sure I have enough money to buy this doll so that mummy can give it to my sister. He heard me."

"I also wanted to have enough money to buy a white rose for my mummy, but I didn't dare to ask God too much. But He gave me enough to buy the doll and the white rose."

"You know, my mummy loves white rose."

A few minutes later, the old lady came again and I left with my trolley. I finished my shopping in a totally
different state from when I started. I couldn't get the little boy out of my mind. Then I remembered a local newspaper article 2 days ago, which mentioned of a drunk man in a truck who hit a car where there was one young lady and a little girl. The little girl died right away, and the mother was left in a critical state. The family had to decide whether to pull the plug on the life-assisting machine, because the young lady would not be able to get out of the coma. Was this the family of the little boy?

Two days after this encounter with the little boy, I read in the newspaper that the young lady had passed away.I couldn't stop myself and went to buy a bunch of white roses and I went to the mortuary where the body of the young woman was exposed for people to see and make last wish before burial.

She was there, in her coffin, holding a beautiful white rosein her hand with the photo of the little boy and the doll placed over her chest. I left the place crying, feeling that my life had been changed forever. The love that this little boy had for his mother and his sister is still, to that day, hard to imagine. And in a fraction of a second, a drunk man had taken all this away from him.

Holiday!

Phewwww...Exams for this semester had finally ended and here comes our holiday!!!! =) =) =) My French classes had finally ended, hopefully I can pass. Oh wait, not only pass, at least pass with a result that I am satisfied with. Well at least from now onwards, no more French exam is going to bother me. As for other test, i will leave it to my fate. I had done my best, oh wait, except for the kitchen engineering part. DANG!

Holiday holiday. So what are you guys going to do during your holidays? I foresee mine to be busy busy busy because I need to start working out on my dissertation. It is not an easy path as I need to contact those top people in hospitality and I have no idea whether they will treat me seriously or not. Emails had been sent and now what I can do is to wait. If not, I will have to go HR hopping around hotels in KL. Dissertation will take down most of my time during my holidays and oh, drama of course.

I am seriously addicted to a few new dramas now and so freaking excited for the next episode! ARRRRR! hahahaha. Oh well girls. What to do. I am sure if my internet line in seremban is faster, my mum would be joining my club. =p How I wish I am in Korea now! =) =) It is Winter over there and I am sure it is freaking beautiful.

Besides dissertation and drama, trip trip trip! Wheeee~ Permission had been given and let's just wait for that day to come. =p

We attended a career talk on that day, totally interested with the Corporate Training Programme they are offering, went for the interview and now, just wait for the results. They say the results will only be out by next year May, gosh, it is damn long wei. For now, this is the thing I want THE MOST because once you are enrolled in this programme, your future is basically in your hands and you don't have to worry much. What is more fascinating than being able to be a manager in just two years time with a fairly reasonable pay? I want it so so badly.

One more semester to go and we are stepping in the working world. How fast time flies ya. Worried? A bit, but that is life. Excited? Quite. but...I just hope that time will pass a bit slower so I can still enjoy my student moment I have now. I am going to be 22 soon. 22!!! Whenever you say you are 21, people will still think you as being young. But when its 22, its like you are a whole load older. What discrimination is this? haha. Oh well, it is time to be more mature and act like an real adult. =p

 Happy Holiday peeps! =)

Back oh back

Two major papers are down, and two more to go..Seriously, why do I feel like higher diploma examination is much tougher than degree's exam? Perhaps in higher diploma we were all stuffed with so many things together and were continuously pumped by practical classes and endless assignments. As for degree, the most important thing is our individual dissertation, which we still have four more months to prepare. So, I guess our stress will come later?

Anyways, im down with some major side effect from PMS now which is pulling my emotional down slowly. Whole body ached especially my back and also suffering from minor headache. The worst thing that can happen is like what it did last time, hospitalize. Don't. It is freaking scary. Just hope that it will go down soon.

Period pain, je deteste beaucoup!

My cousin brother who is still in primary school is playing facebook now. OMG. I seriously can not believe how fast kids grow nowadays ya. I am still treating him as if he is a small kid, and there he goes adding people in facebook and doing stuffs like we do now, even chatting with me in fb! (==)""" Either I am getting older ( Turning 22 soon! OMG >.< ) or I just can not accept people younger than me growing too fast.

My hair is growing fast too! Soon it will reach the stage where it will start curling out, the awkward stage! Oh my. Just hope it won't look like crap then. Anyways, time to study I suppose, i hope.I am a super conflict girl. I will study study study until I puas because if I feel that I am not facing my book where the rest of the world is doing at the moment, I feel guilty. So, in order to make myself feeling not so guilty and rest my brains at the same time, I will watch drama while flipping through my notese. Yes. Nothing much will go in, but at least I am still with my notes. How conflict. tsk tsk tsk. Okay. Time to mourn my back pain and try to study. Oh French on Thursday! The Die-Die day. Dictation and two essays! (T T)
